See God at Work

When God answers prayers sometimes he does it really subtly and sometimes he hits us in the face and says, "I got this." Today was a smack in the face. Everywhere we read about adoption it said to expect unexpected expenses and delays, but it doesn't make it any easier when it happens. As we talked about in our last blog entry our second step is starting the immigration and dossier processes. Basically, we have to gather a bunch of documents and have them notarized and apostilled. No problem right......Except that that we had no idea what apostilled meant. After a google search we saw that this is the process of authenticating documents that are going to foreign governments. It's usually done at your state's state department and each state is different. Because of their differences, the apostille cost wasn't included in our estimate. So this weekend we looked at what we had to do in Oklahoma and were immediately deflated because it cost over $450 and the immigration cost nearly doubled. What could we do but pray and pray some more? Today after work I, Caleb, was talking about our frustration of this unexpected cost and a friend and colleague of mine said, "God will provide." Now the cool part. Once I got home, in the mail I found donations from family and friends totalling $435 and this evening I got some work for $25. WOW!! God is good. This sweet note was included with one of the donations and it brought a tear to my eye and made me take a deep breath.
