Build Up To Hope's Birth

Recovery from the surgery was hard. It was two weeks before I could get out of bed by myself and several more weeks before I could stand up straight. My surgery was December, 11th 2012. I wasn't released to go back to work until the end of January 2014. After a major scare, we enjoyed singing to our “Tater Tot” and watching her kick. Life was wonderful filled with friends and family showering us with love.

In late April, my doctor discovered I had signs of preeclampsia. She immediately put me on bed rest. A week later, despite our natural birth plan, my labor was induced early on May 1st, 2013. I labored hard for many hours, but I wasn't progressing. My high blood pressure started reaching dangerous levels and Hope’s heart rate was slowing and she was showing signs of distress. My natural birth plan went out the window and didn't want to risk her life or mine again. I went in for a C-section and Hope was welcomed into this world at 8:01 p.m. We accomplished something that I was told would be impossible. Our daughter is a miracle and a blessing sent from the Lord. We know she was given to us to do amazing things in His name.
